Q&A Summer Camp Edition

Do you provide 1:1 support at camp?

We are continuing this year with an adaptive camp (AdaptAbilities) with staff trained and prepped for fun! Our ratios are 1:2 this year (one coach to two athletes). We want to foster independence but also be able to provide support when needed.

As we have limited staff, we are more than happy to accommodate outside support staff attending camp with children. We would hate for support to be the reason for not attending camp so please reach out and we will try our best make it work!

What does a typical day of camp look like?

Our Summer Camp program provides a day filled with action, theme-based activities and crafts, as well as great opportunities to build bonds and friendships.

Early morning: Group Warm-up, Games and Movement
Mid-morning: Snack Break

Late morning: Gymnastics Rotation and Themed Activities

Noon: Lunch Break and Quiet Activities

Early afternoon: Outdoor Play

Mid-afternoon: Snack Break

Late afternoon: Gymnastics Equipment Circuits and Themed Activities

What to wear to camp?

Summer camp participants are welcome to wear anything that is comfortable and flexible to ensure they have freedom to move during activities, including T-shirts, shorts, tights or bodysuits. Bare feet are worn in the gym. Running shoes for ninja weeks.

Hair: Place long hair in a tightly fastened pony tail. If bangs are long, please secure with a hair clip.

Tip: Please ensure hair is gym-ready for attending camp, and bring extra elastics.

What to pack for camp?

Extra clothes: Please pack your children an extra set of clothes – accidents happen and crafts can get messy! Please pack a bathing suit, towel and sunscreen everyday. We are hoping to make it to the splash pad twice a week depending on weather.

Water Bottles: Campers need to stay hydrated so don’t forget those water bottles! Please label your child’s belongings, especially their water bottle to prevent mix up in the gym.

Nutrition: Campers will have two 15-minute breaks for snack and a half-hour for lunch. Please pack your child enough food for the day, including an AM and PM snack. All food should be nut-free.

Do Not Bring: Do not send valuables to camp, including personal devices such as phones or iPads.
